Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Sterile Processing Technician certification: Required
• At least two years recent experience in the field
• Current BLS certification
• Current nursing license per the state of assignment

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate and process surgical instruments, including compiling and counting instrument sets.
• Sterilize instruments and equipment with appropriate exposure and dry times.
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment within the department.
• Assist in room turnover and terminal cleaning of operating rooms as required.
• Perform daily diagnostic testing on sterilizing equipment, including biological indicators.
• Provide reprocessing services for ancillary department instruments and assist in various settings as needed.
