Job Description

The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for the proper decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment used in patient care. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe and sterile environment for the medical team and patients.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, sterilize, and document surgical instruments according to established protocols.
• Utilize sterilization equipment, ensuring all processes meet safety and quality standards.
• Assemble instrument trays and ensure proper selection of wrapping materials for sterilization.
• Conduct high-level disinfection procedures as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles and equipment maintenance.
• Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 year of experience in sterile processing; preference for 2 years.
• Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CBSPD or CRCST) is required.
• Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control standards.
