SPT II - Sterile Processing Technician (Evenings)

5x8 Hour Shift (15:00 - 23:30); requires every Sunday.

Job Description

We are seeking a proficient Sterile Processing Technician II to work in the evenings. This role requires strong skills in the assembly of trays for Cardiac, Orthopedic, and Neurological cases. The technician will be responsible for maintaining high standards of sterile processing and adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and manage trays for Cardiac, Orthopedic, and Neurological surgical procedures.
• Utilize sterile processing equipment such as SPM and Steris V-Pro.
• Participate in the decontamination process as required.
• Ensure all sterile instruments are properly labeled and stored.
• Support rotating responsibilities on weekends as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years experience in sterile processing is required.
• Proficiency in tray assembly for Cardiac, Orthopedic, and Neuro cases.
• Certification through CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA is required; BLS is preferred.
• Must be comfortable floating within the specialty and to the Laurel campus as required.
