Surgical Services – Sterile Processing Tech

Schedule

Day shift, 5 days a week from 05:00 to 13:30, Monday through Friday, with occasional scheduled holidays.

Requirements

• Experience in decontamination of medical items including drills, Davinci systems, and scopes.
• Knowledge of sterilization processes such as STERRAD and steam sterilization.
• Experience with high-level disinfection (HLD) and scopes.
• Proficiency in sterile storage practices.
• Experience as an Operating Room (OR) liaison.
• Familiarity with the Censitrac tracking system.
• Ability to move case carts and manage dirty items, as well as fulfill case cart needs for upcoming surgical procedures.
• Capable of taking OR calls for multiple surgery floors.
• Certification as a Central Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through HSPA.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintain sterile storage of surgical items to prevent contamination.
• Collaborate with surgical teams as an OR liaison to ensure efficient operation.
• Utilize tracking systems effectively to monitor and manage surgical instruments.
• Prepare case carts for surgical procedures and manage logistics within the sterile processing area.
• Support OR staff through effective communication and timely instrument delivery.
