Baptist Medical Center is looking for a Lead Sterile Processing Technician to support the Sterile Processing Department working in Decontamination at Baptist Jacksonville. This position is a Full-Time position working Monday through Friday working 11:00am to 7:30pm.

As a Lead Sterile Processing Tech, your responsibilities include:

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of decontamination ensuring the proper cleaning, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of medical instruments and supplies, while also leading and training other SPD technicians, maintaining quality control standards, and collaborating with the the SPD manager to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with regulatory guidelines

  • Participates in the decontamination, inspection, cleaning and assembling and packaging of surgical linens, surgical instrumentations, medical/surgical supplies materials and equipment

  • Have knowledge of all types of sterilization equipment and processes they perform

  • Understands principles of sterilization

  • Wrap instruments/linen properly, while selecting correct supplies to be used for sterilization

  • Able to collaborate and prioritize duties for quality and efficiency

Experience Requirements:

  • 1-2 years Instrument Experience

  • 1-2 years Surgical Instrumentation Experience

  • Linen Processing Experience

  • Knowledge of regulatory protocols.

Education & Credential Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST). Required Or

  • Certification Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) Required Or
